Hi, everybody! This is Smokey and Sammy, the Storm Chaser Bunnies! We created "Storm Bunny Central"
so that you can keep track of the weather in your area! Along with our humans, we work through the National Weather
Service of Kent County. With the help of our human's ham radio callsigns, we report weather information to NWS (that's
fancy-talk for National Weather Service) and then to multiple TV channels. WE LOVE WEATHER!!!
Dad just bought Mom and us an at home weather station! Well, that is if big brother Sammy bunny doesn't
eat through the cords again and destroys it again...
All About Our Humans:
Our mommy, Erin, and our daddy, DJ, have been working with the National Weather service for almost
a year now (since January 2006). Mom's callsign is KD8DLA, and dad's is KD8EFB. Mom and Dad use their callsigns
with the Ham Radios-- this way, they can call the National Weather Service and let them no immediately of weather conditions.
Since we're closer to the ground, we are the ones that measure the rain (or snow) that has fallen.
Mom is a trained elementary teacher from Grand Valley State University, and is currently looking for a job
in West Michigan.
Dad works at Best Buy, and he is also going to finish college this April (of 2007). We are so proud
of him! He is a hard worker, and helps out with our storm chasing. But, the best thing about him, is that he cleans
our cages!
